We visited Shuckum's when a party we met at the beach recommended it. There were three of us and my sister ordered the oyster sampler plate, and she said it was very good. She also ordered the crap dip appetizer (fishy tasting) and I ordered the cheese dip appetizer. The menu says the tortilla chips are homemade. No they're not. The cheese dip is advertised as the best on the beach. No it's not. It actually tastes like jalapeno cheese dip from a jar. The shrimp and grits I got were tasty, but not visually appealing with brown gravy on them. My other friend ordered the crab cake dinner, and they did not taste fresh, either, and were way too breaded. The service was good because it was a Monday night and there was hardly anyone there (wondering about that), but the meals were overall not good. We come to PCB at least twice a year, but Shuckum's is now checked off our bucket list and we won't be trying it again.

Our first stop in Panam City Beach, Fl. We were welcomed by our server Jada, friend Georgian lady who did not stop smiling til the minute we walked out...ohh, we also got a hug. The Oysters where on point fresh, tasty and most important gone in less then several minutes. The baked Jalapenos Oysters where yumm.. I will defenately recomend Shuckums Oyters if you are in Panama City Beach.

Great oysters! The place is a hole in the wall, but it's a must if you want to try different kinds of baked oysters. Great place! Love it

Omg!!! Crab bisque is phenomenal!!! Really!-- creamy, meaty & not fishy!!! ...baked cheesy oysters r manna from the sea! Enjoy!!!

Ho hum. My wife and I had Baked Jalapeño Oysters, Chicken Wing Basket and a cup of Crab Bisque soup. Add 2 beers and the bill was $41 plus tip. The food was just OK, nothing special or worth going back other than it might be a fun destination in the high season. We were there first of February and it was relatively quiet other than the Karaoke taking place in the bar. The locals were having a blast.... The service was very good, friendly and personable from the moment we walked in. My overall view: take a good look around, because we won't be back. Too much money for boring food. We got hooked by advertising.

Folks this is an oyster bar so go if your going to eat oysters! We sat at the bar and had a couple drinks and a dozen raw shucked fresh by Pokie. The oysters were fresh and great,, I really liked the home oyster sauce, it had good flavor and a little kick. I can speak for the other food, because when I go to an oyster bar I only get oysters! We went oyster pub crawling yesterday or I would have did the eat 5 and 1/2 dozen and get a free tshirt.

sat at the bar, got the "Shuckum's House Special", which has the "special" price of $18 , but actually is a relatively reasonable deal given that this is a tourist place right across the street from the beach.. came with 6 raw oysters (wonderful!!!), 6 parmesan cheese baked oysters (wonderful!!!), about 6 steamed gulf shrimp (OK..), some steamed broccoli (kinda meah , but how good can steamed broccoli be), some fairly sweet hush puppies, a pretty good seafood gumbo, and crackers to wash the gumbo down.. the oysters were really good.. this is kind of a rednecky feeling tourist place, they were playing country music when i was there.. i sat at the bar, the waitress was friendly and service was good, but then again i ate here in december , the slowest season of the year when almost any place on the beach amongst the hardy businesses that decide to try to stay open during the SSSLLLOOOWWW winter season is almost jumping for joy to see a customer walk in the door. I tend to avoid places like this because I figure there will be nothing but fried stuff but i thought this was relatively OK..

Been here many times. Oysters are always great, Saturday night the service was bad, the food cold, and the manager a B when we complained about a 35 minute wait for a fish sandwich, shrimp, and a salad. We will go back for beer and oysters, but nothing else.

I give this place a 3.5 stars. We stopped by here for dinner because we got hungry from walking for about an hour and needed a place to rest. The place is more for the younger crowd. We didn't like the atmosphere that much. It seems to be more like a college hang out. There are both booths and high tops for customers. They gave us a booth. I noticed that the table in its entirety got name carvings (left by patrons?). The walls were plastered with dollar bills left by patrons with their names marked on them. There is some story behind that. The bathroom walls was all graffiti'ed with patrons' scrawlings. The atmosphere wasn't for me plus it was a bit dark and dingy. We ordered a dozen of raw oysters. That was $6.95. Not bad. We also ordered a grilled tuna. I think that costed $20. Finally, we ordered a lime key pie, simply b/c I didn't get a chance to try it the past week and a half in FL and will be leaving soon so I just wanted to try it. I don't think they make their own pies. Price i think is a little high. They had alot of deep fried dishes on their menu. I think it's an ok place. I prefer to try out some restaruants that are frequented by locals though.

We had the baked oysters and a fried seafood sandwich (fish, shrimp, oysters). The sandwich was COVERED in seafood. Really enough for two people. The baked oysters were good, but a bit pricey. About $3 a dozen more than Hunts, but that is to be expected on the beach. Also thought $14 for a pitcher of Shocktop was a bit steep.

  • Roger V.

We ordered the sampler meal which had fried oysters (not good) fried shrimp the best weve had, crab cake was good, fries good.. This platter was enough for two.. If this is what they call great oysters it must be unique to Florida . We will give Dusty's a try on oysters.

We waited over an hour for a table. It was VERY hot in the restaurant... it was cooler outside. After our order was taken it was over an hour and a half before we got our food. Mine was NOT piping hot. Our waited was not only easy on the eye but super super nice. He kept checking on us, apologizing and checking on the food. Some people who were seated after us got food before us. He said our food ticket was up on the board and didn't understand why it was not done. He got his manager to go check on it. We finally got our food. It was... ok. I think I was way past hungry and just didn't care. When it was time to pay, out waiter paid for our meal. He felt so bad that we had to wait so long and for all of the problems. We emptied out our pockets for his tip but we didn't have that much cash. He was a sweetheart! I wish I knew his name. He was really cute. (I'm old... I can say he's cute) He wore several rings on different fingers and had a tattoo on at least one of them. He made the weekend of two fifty year old women and their 24 year old daughters. I would probably go back and give it a second chance just because of him... and to try to find him and give him a better tip!

Service was absolutely! Food was different and huge servings I liked the clipper. I had a dozen raw oysters. They turned out to be good enough but one smelled old and on the verge of spoiled. I ate it anyway and didn't get sick. Must have been something gone bad that the shell was touching before it made it to my table. I was glad when they removed the smelly tray of shells after i ate the oysters. Not the best experience. Those should not have been brought to the table

First night in PCB and we wanted SEAFOOD! The name of the restaurant persuaded us enough. Pricey as the next tourist spot but that wasn't a big shocker. The teeny tiny house margarita special in a plastic cup for $4 was the best they could do but I'll overlook that minor detail since we went here for seafood and not a buzz. Husband got the platter sampler and I tried crab cake, redfish, and oysters for the first time! Crab cake and redfish was DELISH! We weren't a big fan of the oysters (disgusting actually) but that could just be personal preference. They had a whole section of the menu dedicated to the type of oysters they serve so I'm sure they are better than we feel they are. Kids loved the chicken and fries as always and the dollar bill decorations were fun to look at it! We will definitely visit Shuckums again on our next visit. ps no baked potatoes until 4pm though :/

I was there in the dead season. ..service was slow. Oysters were awesome...raw of course! Crab bisque was just ok, certainly not alot of flavor. Ordered the grouper sandwich its definitley a good looking sandwich. Overall it was pricey. Wont be my first choice next time in PCB

  • Jonathan R.

This place has almost everything you could want. The indoor setting for a quiet meal, the outdoor setting to people watch and hear music, the party shack to get wild and crazy. This was my first visit here and it will always be a stop for me when in PCB.

As others have mentioned, this has road side dive ambiance all over it. That is not such a bad thing depending on your mood. There are oysters and then there are Appalachicola oysters. If you do not know the difference, this is as good as any place to learn. I would at least try a dozen raw ( you actually get a bakers for the same price), which is right at $ 7.00 to $ 8.00. You can get the same amount at Mr. tip Sea for $5.00, but they are bit smaller. At any rate, you can "tip" a toe in and get a dozen baked with innumerable variations. Expect a more family driven crowd than Dusty's, with the exception of the spring break crowd. It is worth the trip or walk, depending on where you are coming from to get there. Overall, a weak thumbs up,

  • Suzanne F.

Terrible. Over priced and the food wasn't good. Oysters Rockefeller was not good. Too salty. I'm not a foodie so I'm not picky by any means and I will usually finish a meal even if its not great. I ordered a dozen. Ate 4 and my mom and sister barely ate 1 each. Wasn't good.

Food wasn't bad- $8 for a dozen oysters. Dusty's down the road (west) has better atmosphere but you won't get a table on a weekend night.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE osyters. this is the place were you can get a dozen of them for dirt cheap. i can eat a few dozens cuz they are filling and they are soo damn good. drinks here are cheap too. service is quick. they keep the oysters coming if you tell em. they shuck em, you eat em!

This place is DISGUSTING. We had a large group go for lunch during spring break and the second we walked in the door, we all looked at each other because the stinch was so bad. We realized it was stale, souring beer that was soaked into the carpet. Yes, they have carpet in the bar area. The fountain Diet Coke had to be returned because it tasted so bad, the gumbo had RAW rice in it, the oysters on the half shell were warm and not on ice - and one tasted BAD. To top it off, the waitress charged us for the bad Diet Coke and gumbo. Dusty's is practically next door and MUCH better. This place should be closed down. Huge waste of $.

I had the fresh gulf coast fish (grilled redfish) po boy for lunch today. All I can say is YUM! The atmosphere is quirky with dollar bills that people have drawn and written messages on stapled all over the walls and ceiling. If you are looking for simply delicious fresh seafood without spending an arm and a leg this is a must stop inPCB.

We wanted to go here our first night, but they were packed for dinner. We came back the second day around 5pm and the place was empty. We ordered the oyster sampler for appetizers and felt it was delicious. I ordered the fish sandwich (fried) and it was great. My dad also said the fish tacos were amazing. Decent size portions. The best part of the meal was the hot dog by boyfriend ordered. He wasn't very hungry so he thought a hot dog would be just the right size. Boy was he wrong! The hot dog was huge and covered in chili and cheese. He could barely pick it up. Definitely a good deal.

Best place on Emerald Coast to get some oysters and some beer. The burger is also one of the the best I've ever had...and the fries are dang near close as well! The atmosphere is very dive-y but it's awesome with picnic tables and dollar bills posted everywhere as well as names and initials carved all throughout...has a good amount of tvs and pretty good beer prices and pitchers and all your sports bar type apps...definitely give it a try for lunch one day

This was not a fancy place, but seemed like a real "local" place and had a fun vibe. My husband LOVED it. I thought it was pretty good. If he was writing the review he'd probably give Dusty's five stars, I'd give it three, so I compromised on 4. The food was good, the service was very good, and our waitress was friendly. I don't eat oysters, but my husband and son said the were very fresh! The food was good and not great, because the sauces, I had alfredo and my son had marina, were obviously just dumped out of a can. They might have been doctored a bit, but they weren't anything to write home about. The shrimp was very fresh and the pasta was cooked just right. My husband's burger was delicious, he said. We had dessert, which the waitress said is a rarity as the portions are generous. The chocolate pecan pie was VERY Good, the tiramasu was served "deconstructed." I wasn't a fan. We would certainly go back the next time we're in PCB.

Where do I start? For having 15 tvs they did not the VS. channel. What gives? 12 people in the entire place and we had to wait to be seated. Beer menu did not match beer options. According to my father " for being a place on the beach they over-fried the fried scallops". I ordered the shucker special... 12 oysters, shrimp and fries.. Now I am super horny! Service was slow for the amount of people in the place. They must have had the oysters too!

  • Fred V.

This was my go-to place until this week. Took my family to Shuckums and their food arrived cold. I ordered raw oysters and they were not local. Some of them had dark edges, they were small and tasteless. I asked if the peel and eat shrimp had been cleaned and how many.... was told yes (I commented I had never had cleaned peel and eat shrimp and was excited) and that I would received 14 - 16. Well, they weren't clean, weren't local and only 8 on my plate. I have been sick the last two days. Won t go again.

  • Dante F.

Everything was delicious, but the oysters were tiny, the gumbo was watery, and I had to fight with a troublesome fly the whole time. I loved their variety of hot sauces, I tried every one. A bit pricy for the mediocre quality, but food enough not to complain about.

It's been over a year since we've been here, but I can't wait to get back. I love me some oysters, and this is the place to get them, IMHO. The service was friendly, the place was jumping, and they had no problems making sure that we had plenty of oysters. Of course, with oysters, the price ain't cheap, so it was in their best interest to make sure we kept ordering- can't fault them for that. I hear that they have since expanded, engulfing the ice cream place next door, which makes me a little sad, but I'm glad they are doing so well. I'm looking forward to our next trip out to the Redneck Riviera.

We had lunch here last week. We had been ordering seafood everynight so I was ready for something different. I ordered the steak & cheese hoagie with fries. It was very good. My husband ordered the fried grouper sandwich with onion rings. He said it was good also. The onion rings are the wide cut ones and he prefers the thin cut but they were good too. They give you a lot. Our server, Lawana, told us that their brewed tea machine was broken so the tea was the kind that comes in a syrup. I was so thankful that she did because I hate that kind of tea. I just had water. She was very attentive. We arrived late afternoon during the week so it wasn't crowded. I imagine that it can get very crowded on a weekend or when the summer season starts up. It is across the street from a lot of condos.

Blech. If you like fried unidentifiable crap then have at it. Otherwise it is an overpriced tourist trap with a million versions of battered Ms. Paul's pressed fish parts, at wallet raping prices. We had fried shrimp with onion rings, beer steamed shrimp and a grouper sandwich. With a really week daiquiri and a margarita , our bill was 65$. Not even remotely worth it considering the two of us that ate shrimp were doubled over with impending diarrhea and horrid stomach cramps within an hour. The steamed shrimp still had the poop trail. Very, very slack. I wouldn't dare try the oysters and that goat the waitress warned me away from the crab cakes. If you want oysters try Dusty's.

Our group was disappointed and will not return. We had hoped this would be a place locals would come for good oysters, but, based on our experience, I imagine locals are going elsewhere. The oysters were probably the best part of the meal, although they were on the small side. We had oysters at many places that week, so it wasn't just the time of year, July. We had a dozen raw oysters and a dozen baked. The baked order was a sampler but we didn't find that the flavors were all that unique (we weren't sure which were which). There was a nice selection of hot sauces available and plenty of horseradish; that was something done well. I ordered the tuna, which I recall was listed as sushi-grade, and requested it rare. It came with a red marker indicating rare, but it was fully cooked. It wasn't dry and tasted ok, so I ate it, but it was not what I had wanted or ordered (and there was clearly no misunderstanding that I had ordered rare). The bill also gave us pause. It was well over $100 for four of us. Considering what we ordered and the quality, we felt we overpaid.

Good oysters, sandwiches, etc. at reasonable prices. Good service. One of very few places open late during the off-season, and we were grateful since we didn't make it to our hotel until after 9PM. Could be cleaner, but maybe the grime is part of the ambiance. After all, my mom used to say nothing is dirtier than money, and the walls and ceilings are covered with personalized dollar bills. The smell of vomit mixed with cleaning fluid on New Years Day when we stopped in for a 2nd visit was more than we could take, though, and we had to turn around and leave. Must have been a wild New Years Eve at Shuckums..I'm sure the place will air out by the summer high season.

Dive bar with decent baked oysters (served on plastic lunchroom-style trays), thick creamy crab bisque, and big tasty grouper sandwiches. Decor is colored dollar bills stapled to the walls and names carved into the tables by past patrons. A bit pricey for a sandwich ($12), but enough to share and good fries.

By far, this has been the homerun of the trip. Had the seafood clipper which included fish, shrimp and oysters. The sandwich was huge and tasty from beginning to end. The next time I'm in PCB, this will be the first stop

You must try the fried oysters! They are amazing. We ordered some other things but the fried oysters were best. Service is good too. They have so many people and we got seated quickly and served in a reasonable amount of time. We will do this again

Man oh man were the oysters delicious! I did a build your own combo with the baked Rockefeller, Italian and Crab meat topped selections. And to be honest I wish I would have done all crab meat. They were absolutely delicious. I got a side of corn on the cob and to no surprise - also delicious. Great spot for the family in Panama City Beach just feet from the beach. The DJ does a fun kids contest while families wait to be sat which makes for some good entertainment. Fun local place in PCB.

Friendly service but not good food. Overly greasy and not up to par. I used to visit this restaurant on spring breaks in the mid 2000s. Definitely has gone down hill. Service was good but if looking for fresh sea food you might as well go to red lobster. Only thing consistent is raw oysters.

Super friendly staff and very quick service. The oysters were really small, but they were out the night before, so they probably had some substandard ones brought in. We will go back, but a little disappointed this time around. But it still a fantastic restaurant in my opinion.

We have been in PCB for 9 days now and this was the best service we got by far. The staff and waiter were great. FOOD- I had the seafood platter and it was good. Shrimp, crab cake, and fried oysters were all good (not great). However I also ate the jalapeño baked oysters and they were so good. My father had the PCB baked oysters and he was very impressed also. STAFF- Waiter was great and very helpful when it came to the menu. Our drinks never got low. Good came out quickly. No complaints. VENUE- about what you would expect from an oyster bar. Lots of seating. People have placed dollar bills all over the walls. This is my kind of place We will be back!!!

Had a great time ogling over the multitudes of dollar bill "art work". Id guess some of those bills came off a jaded stripper or 2 based on some of the "declarations" on them..... BUT the food was great and service stellar at lunchtime on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Would of given 5 stars but thought our baked oyster appetizer should have come out on a plate or dish versus a plastic "cafeteria" tray. Nonetheless I would def go back. Added benefit, the beach is literally across the street...walk that grub off ;) Sorry no food pics, we tore it up!!!

Always our first stop when we go to PCB. The best oysters on the beach, and I know because I have been to them all. Atmosphere is fun and casual. The poor boys are delicious. Service staff is always friendly and fast. Best gumbo.

Big place with plenty of seating inside and outside. Busy during the high season, but the nice feature is a karaoke in the barn next door (with bar). Keep an eye on the KJ though, he's a bit handsy with the ladies and by the end of the night was drunk. My wife had to push him away a couple of times, but some of the ladies ate it up. I was surprised they closed so early - so make sure to check the hours before planning a late night out.

I don't know why they have so little stars, I've been here three times and have been blown away every single time. The service has always been friendly and fast. The oysters are incredible, they have so many different options, of all the places I've had oysters in PCB this is without a doubt the best place to come. They're right on front beach. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Their prices are reasonable. They always have drink specials and happy hour is all day every day. If you want oysters, this is the place to try first!

Usually one of our favorites to go to while in PCB. It just was not good this time. We went last Friday night on our first night of vacation and my husband who usually gets raw oysters said they were really small and he ended up getting sick from them after. I felt bad for him because raw oysters are his favorite and it ruined his taste for the for the rest of the vacation. I got the baked oysters, they also were not as good as in the past. My daughter who usually orders fried grouper, now they don't have it so she ordered fried shrimp...she said it was meh.

Shuckums is a bar/restaurant smack dab in the middle of Panama City Beach, Florida Come early or be prepared to wait...it gets crowded! You can park in front or out back, on a parking made of all oyster shells (no kidding) Our waitress was very nice and gave us great service We started out with Shrimp Jammers, which is an appetizer of shrimp wrapped in cheese and then deep fried. Yum My daughter actually suggested this place, so all credit goes to her for picking it. This place is known for their baked oysters. Get them...you won't be disappointed My son had 6 of the Krab baked oysters - oysters topped with crab and parmesean cheese My daughter had the baked oyster sampler..this was a dozen oysters, baked several different ways...all delicious My daughter's boyfriend had the Bacon baked oysters - oysters topped with bacon and cheddar cheese. These were the best ones...wow All baked oysters are served on the half-shell and they were all quite large. The drinks were stout and the food was wonderful. I normally don't eat oysters, but these were wonderful Ignore the negative reviews and just go for the oysters

This was a great place to go try baked oysters because they have a lot of variety. I ordered the baked sampler which had 3 different flavor profiles on the oysters. I wished I had the option of choosing the 3 types on the sampler, but that is not a choice. The smaller oysters were well-cooked. The larger ones on order were underdone and still slimy (gross). Also, some of my oysters with crab meat on them were not cleaned properly and had she'll pieces in them. It's a good dive place to try out while in PCB. A couple of the people with me ordered the fried oyster po boy and I was pretty jealous! They all raved about it!

  • Teampcbeach ..

    (3)
  • Roger V.

We ordered the sampler meal which had fried oysters (not good) fried shrimp the best weve had, crab cake was good, fries good.. This platter was enough for two.. If this is what they call great oysters it must be unique to Florida . We will give Dusty's a try on oysters.

Waited over an hour with four hungry kids. Expect to wait because well it's summer in PCB. However we are then told by hostess that her manager told her to no longer sit people for food in the "bar party area,he is trying to figure something out" that would have been nice to know after waiting!! The hostess was very nice, not her fault the manager doesn't know what he is doing. They have the "restaurant" are there was a two hour wait, so we opted to wait only and hour in the "party" area.. They had karaoke, that could potentially be fun, however if I ha to hear one more 8 year old sing "let it go" or a country song I was gonna lose it. Anyway crappy organization, very inconsiderate to make people wait and then, "oh sorry, we are not serving good over here now" really!!!?? Absolute ridiculous. Sorry can't tell ya how the food was because we left.

Nice interior. All wooden tables and seats and you been accompanied by 1 Dollar notes. Wonder how many are there. May be a good question for a quiz. Now. We went there during our holiday at Panama City beach. Very friendly and warm greetings, quick and friendly service with a good sense of humor. Nice sea food we had here. Yes we would recommend to go here if you are in Panama City beach

Good food is an understatement!... Everything was fresh, fast, and hot!!!.. Even the service was A+. The wait time is not even 5 minutes. The location is right across the street from the beach. And they have outside and inside seating. Very nice atmosphere and they have a full bar. And lets not forget the prices are very reasonable. My server was a young lady by the name of Rusty. Amazing 5 star service!!!!! I will be back when im back in the area. Great job!!!!

My fav in Panama City Beach! For many years we took our boys there when they were teenagers. When they were grown, we started going to the Gulf side. We decided to give it another try to see how much it has changed. We rolled into town and I couldn't wait so we stopped by for the oysters, fish platter, & great cocktails. The service was great and like before, we really enjoyed ourselves! -with all the new places that we tried in town, this is still my favorite.

I've been going here for years. It's the only spot I always make a point to go to when I'm in PCB. The oysters and crab legs are fantastic - best in town! Beer is always good and cold. Service is always excellent. A really relaxed place.

My husband and I both got the shrimp dinner. We had it grilled. The hush puppies were too onion-y. The food overall was good. Our drinks were a little strong, felt like I was taking a shot instead of enjoying a mixed drink. The service was ok, our waitress acted irritated when I had questions. Not being from the southeast I wasn't sure what some things were, she looked at me like I was an idiot instead of explaining it. The vibe I got was they were trying to be hooters, except the girls weren't hooter girls and they were in short shorts only. I went for shrimp, I got delicious shrimp. A little bit of patience with customers goes a long way.

We went our first night in Panama City Beach and we're looking forward to some good authentic bar food. They were moderately busy. About half the tables were full. We ordered on 2 separate checks as we were with extended family. The waitress acted aggravated my family were only drinking water but due to health problems we prefer water. We ordered a oyster sampler, I had crab cakes, my husband had a fried basket of something and my daughter had peel and eat shrimp. The platter was awful. It was covered in what looked like Kraft Parmesan cheese from a jar and little else. My husband's basket was tiny and my daughters shrimp were piled in what looked like a soup bowl. My crab cakes we so bad I literally left 2 of them on the plate. All this time we had to keep flying the waitress down if we needed another drink. NOT WORTH. THE MONEY.

Food wasn't good. I had the oysters and my girlfriend had the poboy. The oysters were not clean and tasted funny. The poboy was probably the worst I have ever tried. Even Popeye's poboy tastes much better. I'm giving it two stars because the staff was extremely nice.

Ate here the other night and the food was good but our waitress was awful! Her name was Christina. She did not ask us in the beginning if we were on all separate checks so when it came time to pay it was an awful mess. Also you could tell by the look on her face she was not glad to see us. I understand that she may have been tired but that should not affect you being rude and clearly unhappy to serve us:(

We went here based on a recommendation from one of our hotel's beach boys. We opted to sit outside as it felt great out and there was karaoke on the patio. The first thing we all noticed was that our server seemed like she had been drinking or was on something. Her speech was slurred but boy was she friendly. To catch up with our waitress, we started off with some mixed drinks. I honestly don't remember what the name of my drink was but it was $4, fruity but not too fruity, and yummy. For appetizers, a few of us ordered the crab bisque, raw oysters, fried clam strips, and the shrimp jammers. The crab bisque was my least favorite thing I had here by a landslide. It was lumpy (not from the crab) and tasted like it was from a can. Definitely not worth $5 for a cup. Not even worth $1 in my opinion. I took 2 bites and I gave it to my husband. I thought the shrimp jammers were okay but tasted like typical bar food. The jalapeño ranch that came with them was good and tasted homemade. The clam strips were pretty tasty too. The raw oysters would have been nothing out of the ordinary but they served them with a side of horseradish. Normally I eat oysters with hot sauce but they were really good with horseradish! I'll have to remember that trick. For my entree, I chose the fried fish sandwich with french fries. It was actually a pretty good fish sammie. Lightly breaded and the piece of fish was huge. I split it up into two sandwiches and ate the rest for breakfast the following morning. Fries were good but average. Husband ordered the crab cake dinner. Pretty good crab cakes. He really liked them. All in all, I would maybe go back for more of those oysters and the fish sandwich. Otherwise, there are better restaurants to choose from.

Amazing oysters and great local spot. My husband and I have been here a few times through the years. We started with the bacon baked oysters which were delicious and it was my first time eating oysters! Good choice for first time trying oysters! I got the fried fish tacos for entree with fries, first time having fish tacos also and I was not disappointed!! Our waitress was very nice, helpful, and quick with everything! Great dive atmosphere, will definitely be coming back more!!

Stumbled upon this place by accident and had a great meal. The PC baked oysters and Seafood gumbo were great, crab legs were awesome, service was good and the karaoke was a nice bonus. Keep in mind it's bar food, but worth the visit. We'll be back next year!

I'm not from PCB. Most people here right now aren't either. The streets are full of people and cars, so a place to park is most important. However we would have been better off somewhere else it seems. We walk in. Are told to go to the bar area. Sit in a booth and told to move to another table. So bar area means everywhere except that particular booth. Oh... I ordered grilled chicken. He ordered grilled fish tacos (no ranch) and margarita. Margarita was seemingly small considering it's called a "double". Watered down as well. Food took longer than it should have. Wasn't really all that busy. His order was all ranched up and my chicken had a funny smell. I later discovered the smell was in fact odd seasoning combined with burning one side to the point of it becoming inedible. He didn't reorder his due to the fear of how long having it corrected would take. So we left. With a to go box that was over half full when I decided it was time to give up on that chicken. It is a tourist trap. Their food isn't all that awesome, but the prices make you think it would be. You should totally go there if that's what you're into.

Went here yesterday with a very dear friend of mine for lunch as a start to our little mini-vacation and it was absolutely yummy and absolutely fabulous!! She had the Oysters with Parmesan, Garlic and Butter and a Salad and I had a Fish Sandwich with a Salad and Fries. Our drinks we had were the Long Island Iced Tea and Sex on the Beach, both were exceptionally awesome!! No complaints from either of us and we are going to be returning here for lunch again tomorrow!! Our waitress was super sweet as well!

If you are going and love oysters like we do you must try the baked oyster platter. It was so good. My favorite was the Parmesan baked oysters. My husband loved the platter so much he ordered another one for his dinner and a dozen raw. I ordered the shrimp and grits which was very good but the oysters by far were the star!

Our first stop after arriving in PCB and unpacking. Great oysters and fantastic staff. Blackened fish was great too. Four stars because the shrimp was a overcooked and rubbery. This is supposedly a slow week for tourism, but we had a bit of a wait for our food. However, the friendliness of the staff made up for that. Try to arrive before five for less of a wait.

  • Lindsay P.

I was a little less than impressed with the place. The food was so-so but the service was seriously lacking. First, we were sitting outside and it was karaoke hour. Which was a little annoying. From the get go, we could tell something was off about our server. She kept forgetting things that we had just asked for. It wasn't like she had a ton of tables either because she complained about how slow it had been all day. They did have drink specials so we took advantage of that. It took a while for us to get them though. Our appetizers arrived minutes before our drinks. She said it was because there were a lot of us (6) and it took the bartender a while. Which is fine but we didn't get our waters until then either. The clam strips were very good, but the crab soup was not. It tasted canned. It was awful, but not at all what I expected. The crab cakes, however, were seriously delicious. They claim to be homemade and I believe it. For my entree I ordered the krab baked oysters which were amazing. Probably the best oysters I had during our visit. The food here is pretty decent, but unless you're getting the oysters, it's not much different than any sea food shack in PCB. Based on the service alone, I probably would not return...especially for karaoke.

It's been 30 yrs since my last visit to Shuckums and was really looking forward to the dinner. I took my wife and youngest daughter along with me. We dined around 4:30pm and it was not crowded. I ordered the fried oyster Po Boy and it was horrible! I have had Po boys all along the gulf coast and this was the worst. The oysters tasted so fishey and were mushy and bland. My wife ordered the grouper tacos and was very disappointed. The grouper was greasy and mushy also. When we got our check the waiter asked us how our meal was. We told him the food was not good and he commented on our mostly un-eaten food on our plates and never ask what problem was. My wife wrote her opinion of the food on the check and watched the cashier read it and laugh After paying the $60 check and tip it will be longer than 30yrs before I visit Shuckums again.

One of the best meals and servers we had in our week in Panama City area. I think our servers name was Jada, regardless, she was awesome. Everything we had here was excellent, Except.... The clam strips. They were unedible and horrible. The Red fish was Awesome and the most flavorful fish we had in our entire stay in the sunshine state(all I had was seafood for every meal) The raw oysters were top notch, and the baked ones were even better than the awesome baked ones I'd had at 3 other restaurants. Our server cared about nothing but making sure we were satisfied and having a great time. I cannot tell you how much this makes the dining experience better. We mentioned the clam strips to her and told her that it wasn't a big deal, we just wanted her to know, but she insisted on telling the manager. Back to the clam strips and why they were bad. Obviously they had been cooked many minutes before being served to us and were cool in throughout. The rest of the food was perfect and HOT, so I'm assuming that the kitchen was just trying to slip one by us as it was getting toward the end of the night. The Clam inside was not rancid or anything like that, they just served us an old product. Schukums was awesome, and next time we come, and we will be back, we will skip the strips

Typical fried seafood restaurant. Nothing to really brag about except for yummy mixed drinks sadly. I ordered their she crab soup, just meh. If you are looking for a great she crab soup, along with fresh seafood then I would recommend Dee's hang out or if you have some money to spare - saltwater grill. I ordered the grilled fish sandwich that was way to greasy, which I tried to get away from by having it grilled. Our server was very nice, BUT forgot everything at least once that she said she would bring: drinks, appetizers, lemons, napkins, and more. Also told us she couldn't read her hand writing, and asked us what the last appetizer we ordered was. From our observations she was either wasted or on pills. Either way, pull it together.

Took family to dinner early on a Friday night. Started with tuna dip. Pretty good. Disappeared pretty quick. Long Island ice tea seemed kinda weak. Should have taken suggestion and make a double. I ordered oysters as my main course but came out ahead of everyone. Oysters were mixed sizes. Better than avg. got the 3 way sampler. Kinda all blended together. Had to ask for lemons. Timing of food was off. Wife's salad came out followed by main courses. Salad was fresh, but dressings came in packets. Just meh. Son ordered crap cake dinner. Crab was finely shredded. Not the good lump crab. Seemed kinda mealy with breading. Cakes were lukewarm. Dijon mustard was on some of the cakes and very strong. Onion rings were thick and nice. Wife ordered 2 way shrimp special. The fried shrimp were great. Fresh and cooked just right. Nice pop in them. Grilled shrimp were overcooked and dry. Cajun redskin potatoes were light on the Cajun. Shrimp served with tarter sauce? Dirty rice was bland. Next son had a burger. He showed me what at first looked like perfectly cooked medium: hard to get in a seafood place. But he commented it seemed cool on the inside and charred on outside. Sign of a frozen patty. Sigh. Fries were good. Tabitha our waitress was good and attentive. She did great. So overall: meh. None in my family seemed really interested in going back. Seems like place best for just drinking beer and oysters. Maybe I expected too much more than that.

I have been eating here on vacation for more than 20 years. Oysters are the thing. I won't really vouch for anything else as this is the reason the wife and I visit. We eat them baked and the sampler dozen will allow you to find your favorite. Good service. Good southern sweet tea. Fresh horseradish. A range if heat if you are into hot sauces. Yolanda was our server tonight and she was great. My only criticism is the price. Getting pricy for a dozen oysters. So much competition in town that you would think the prices would be better. No visit to PCB would be complete for me without a visit to Shuck ems. Try Dusty's too and find your oyster house.

Stumbled upon this place by accident and had a great meal. The PC baked oysters and Seafood gumbo were great, crab legs were awesome, service was good and the karaoke was a nice bonus. Keep in mind it's bar food, but worth the visit. We'll be back next year!

This place has almost everything you could want. The indoor setting for a quiet meal, the outdoor setting to people watch and hear music, the party shack to get wild and crazy. This was my first visit here and it will always be a stop for me when in PCB.

Pretty dang good!! I wanted to give 5 stars but I wasn't impressed with the seating list set up. It drives me crazy to go somewhere, see several open tables and still have to wait a while to be seated. Then the number system is odd too, we chose to sit outside to wait and stationed a kid inside to watch the number board. I think they could update that process a little bit. So on to the food. The crab cakes were delicious. The fish sandwich was huge and delicious too. The chips and quest were about average. We don't like oysters which is their claim to fame but we are definitely adding Shuckums to our to do list during our annual PCB pilgrimage.

  • Alana R.

NOT WORTH. THE MONEY.

  • Kristi R.

Ordered the gumbo and some shrimp. Was the best I've had in a long time. Both of my friends had oysters. Ate some of those too, they were delicious. Had so much fun. The wait staff was great, friendly and attentive. Will visit everytime I'm in the area.

Food wasn't good. I had the oysters and my girlfriend had the poboy. The oysters were not clean and tasted funny. The poboy was probably the worst I have ever tried. Even Popeye's poboy tastes much better. I'm giving it two stars because the staff was extremely nice.

The oysters are good the atmosphere is good. The only reason I give Shuckums three and not four stars is that inside the restaurant smelled. We were there on Memorial Day and they had a great entertainer for children.

I wished we had ate there more on our week stay in PCB! Highly recommend it!

On a positive note... We had no problem grabbing a table outside for our party of 6 on a Friday evening. The food was OK but the service left much to be desired. I ordered the Shuckums Burger with bacon and I traded fries for steamed broccoli. The burger came out with fries and no bacon. It took about 10 minutes for our server to bring out the missing bacon and broccoli. The bacon was sad... very very sad. Three chewy strips of the thinnest bacon I've ever seen. I'm certain that the broccoli came from a bag.

Had the shrimp jammers, crap dip and raw oysters. The shrimp jammers were delicious, the crap dip was just ok and definitely not worth $13 for a 4 oz bowl with tortilla chips. Service was a bit lackluster. The oysters were good but not served with any cocktail sauce or lemon.

We stay across the street and visit Shuckums at least a couple times every year. I don't get the bad reviews except maybe it's not what was expected. We ate dozens of oysters this year and they were great as always. Our favorite are the pcb baked and if course raw. We always have good service and the wait is never bad and they have the party shack with plenty of room to hang out while you wait.

  • Pascale K.

The kids go for the fried shrimp baskets and they are hand breaded shrimp and we never thought they were greasy. Good times can't wait to visit again

Great oysters! The place is a hole in the wall, but it's a must if you want to try different kinds of baked oysters. Great place! Love it
